:: Brian Molko ::

the best 'stunt girl' ever :)

If you know (of) him, chances are you either adore him or abhor him -- and I'm quite confident in speaking for him when I tell you that he wouldn't want it any other way.  If for some reason I've failed as a human being and you're clueless about who this precious little creature is, please click here for a brief Bri-primer.

I decided against a tacky fansite because, frankly, the internet is awash with them and it's a less than pointless endeavour. Instead, I'm including the aforementioned "primer" to introduce all of the essentials (and then some) in a neat, easy-to-read single page so that you won't need to wander through sites with wRiTinG LiKe tHis just to find out where he got his start, what seems to make him tick, etc.  Additionally, I'm including all of my 'unique' Brian visuals; meaning, you cannot find these exact images elsewhere. The following include some wallpapers for your computer desktop, some Photoshop pseudo-art, etc. At some point I hope to have some Winamp skins, Messenger skins, etc up here as well.

If you're captivated by this charming lad, or just wish to continue pursuing information, I recommend the following after your stint here:  The Brick Shithouse: official Placebo website. As the formerly biggest unofficial and now even better as the official, Placebo-endorsed and interactive site, it's the only site worth linking to for information. On a much more casual level, I'm a member of many Brian-related discussion forums, most done through e-groups, which you can find information on in my contact section.

outward angel ?

Brian as an angel and the Shakespeare quote, "O, what man may within him lie, though angel on the outward side!"

rid your temptation -- yield to it.

Oscar Wilde quote: "The only way to rid temptation is to yield to it" and Bri almost leaning in at ya :)

ooooh, nakie :)

No text this time; my colour scheme obsession should be pretty apparent by now.

you're a sad-eyed love.

Inspired by the Placebo song "Holocaust." Brian was sitting beneath a pay phone in the original photo I nabbed his face and hands from. He appeared so frightened that if he were to need help, I doubt he'd be able to pick up the phone. The song always instilled the same emotion in me somehow, with lines like, "can't get out of bed/and you can't sleep" and "you're sitting down to dress/and you're a mess." This image focuses particularly by the line, "you're a wasted face, you're a sad-eyed love, you're a holocaust." So beautiful and yet so scared -- I decided to use this as my entry page graphic, at least for the time being.

i don't care for myself.

On their upcoming album, Black Market Music, is the song "Blue American." The text was taken from one of the verses in this melancholic, wistful commentary... and this verse in particular was one with which I strongly identify.  The original image is of Brian crouched over on a hospital bed, as if he were too tired to just sit up but without enough room to lie down and be comfortable. I cannot possibly recount the endless nights where I was in a similar state of fatigue, mostly emotional -- all trying to transmute the same emotions of self-worth and 20th-century survival to the very people who had me sitting on such beds. A lovely song that I cherish already... and an image that, I feel, corresponds to it nicely.
