JUNIOR INVENTORS CREATE TOOTHBRUSH FOR BRACES
APEX, N.C. (Wireless Flash) Four 8th-grade girls in North Carolina have sunk their teeth into inventing a special toothbrush for kids who were braces. Thirteen-year-old Christine Hackett says she and her three friends invented the special brush because they discovered braces filled with popcorn, pasta or peanut butter are gross. Christine says the girls didnt have the funds to make their own toothbrushes, so they bought a bunch of normal toothbrushes, cut the middle bristles short and bent the handles slightly. That was six months ago and some of their friends are still using the prototypes, but Christine says dental experts are interested in the design.
