According to a report in Harvard Management Communication Letter, Europeans are increasingly using American business buzz words even when they have no clue what the expressions mean. So far, phrases like talking off-line a one-on-one meeting and drool-proof solutions simple solutions are awash in England. In fact, a recent survey found that one in five English business employees feels the need to use the Yankee jargon to earn their colleagues respect. However, the French Finance Ministry is trying to stop the American invasion by encouraging the use of French translations like jeune pousse literally a young plant shoot for start- up and courrier electronique for e-mail.
