CHADS TURN ARTISTIC IN POLITICAL PAINTINGS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Those tiny bits of ballot punch card paper known as "chads" are popping up in the strangest places. New York-based artist Mark Kostabi has just completed three mosaic-style portraits of Al Gore using colorful "chads" cut from copies of his own paintings. The "Chagall of chads" says the tiny bits of paper are the most unpredictable material he's ever worked with because they don't always stick in place. Nevertheless, Kostabi is planning to auction the political portraits on Ebay and each piece is expected to fetch at least $4000. The artist is showing his true colors about politics with the auction proceeds: He will donate them to the Gore campaign legal fund.
