MORRISON'S GRAVE CONTROVERSY: WILL HE STAY PUT?

MORRISON'S GRAVE CONTROVERSY: WILL HE STAY PUT?

PARIS (Wireless Flash) -- Jim Morrison's body may stay put after all thanks to an anonymous benefactor who's paying to keep the musician's Paris gravesite free of graffiti. The graffiti is just one of the problems caused by an endless stream of rock fans who troop through the cemetery to party at Morrison's grave. To bring peace to Morrison's neighbors, cemetery officials had planned on exhuming his body on July 6, 2001, and transporting it to America. But Doors historian Paul Humpheries claims cemetery sources recently decided to let Morrison's remains remain thanks to an unidentified person who is paying for graffiti removal around the grave. Some Doors fans think Morrison himself is behind the cleanup, and that he's still alive and faked his death in 1971. Meanwhile, Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek says he's absolutely certain Morrison is dead and that his body will still be exhumed in 2001.
