Wayne Newton Turns 60 (Apr. 3) – Not That He Cares

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) – Entertainer Wayne Newton turns 60 on Wednesday (Apr. 3) – but he has no plans to even eat a piece of cake. Newton’s spokeswoman Tricia McCrone says there’s lots of interest in how he’ll celebrate the big “six-o” but says the singer told her, “I never celebrated my birthday before, so why should I now?” She says Newton prefers to concentrate on his work with the USO and figures the birthday will be “just another day.” In fact, the singer will be performing at the Stardust Hotel on his birthday night but there will probably be no mention of the date on stage.
