EARTHA KITT ALONE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

HERSHEY, Penn. (Wireless Flash) – Eartha Kitt’s signature holiday song is “Santa Baby,” but it should be “Blue Christmas.” The 74-year-old entertainer says her holiday tradition is to either spend Christmas home alone or working. It may sound like an unhappy way to spend the holidays but Kitt doesn’t mind – she says she doesn’t celebrate Christmas because she isn’t religious. However, Kitt admits she and her daughter raise her grandchild in the “Jewish culture” – which is different from the Jewish faith. She says they don’t follow the religious practices of Judaism, but put an emphasis on the family-oriented way of life Jews lead. This Christmas, the actress best known for playing Catwoman in the ’60s TV show Batman will be sharpening her claws for a holiday role as a cat in the new animated Christmas story Santa Baby. The special airs on Fox next Monday (Dec. 17).
