CANINE CHAPEL HAS ITS OWN ‘DOGMA’

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (Wireless Flash) – Churches are going to the dogs thanks to an artist who has built the world’s first chapel for canines. Stephen Huneck says he spent $200,000 to construct the white clapboard chapel near St. Johnsbury, Vermont, which features stained glass windows of black labradors wearing halos and pews carved to look like dogs. There’s also a special doggie door for Rover to enter the hairy house of worship and a homespun plaque outside the chapel states the holy place’s motto: “All creeds, all breeds, no dogma.” Huneck says the canine church is a place where both dogs and owners can commune, and claims he’s never heard a dog bark or seen a dogfight among the four-legged worshippers.
