MONTY HALL WANTS TO ‘MAKE A DEAL’ FOR A NEW SHOW

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Let’s Make A Deal host Monty Hall says he’s on the verge of making a deal for a new version of the classic game show. Hall – who logged 27 years and 4700 episodes on the original Let’s Make A Deal – says he won’t host the new version, which he hopes to get on the air by 2002. Instead, 78-year-old Monty plans to hand the deal-making reins over to a younger host – but that doesn’t mean he’s escaping his game show alter ego. Hall says he can’t go anywhere without people asking him whether he’d like to “make a deal.” His next gig will be a special appearance on a week-long Let’s Make a Deal marathon on the Game Show Network which starts August 27.
