TRAVOLTA OWES HIS CAREER TO ‘DEEP THROAT’
LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Would you believe John Travolta owes his career to the 1972 X-rated flick, Deep Throat? According to porn culture historian Legs McNeil, producer of a dirty movie documentary, The Secret History Of The Other Hollywood, the mobsters who financed the Linda Lovelace flick made so much money they started producing legitimate films. The company’s first film was a 1975 Ernest Borgnine horror flick called The Devil’s Rain – but it was also Travolta’s movie debut in which he wore a wad of waxy make-up. That’s not the only bizarre connection between the porn world and Hollywood. McNeil says West Wing star Martin Sheen was a character witness for porn actress Ginger Lynn when she was on trial for tax evasion. The Secret History Of The Other Hollywood will air July 22 on Court TV.
